Wizz Air Named UK's Least Punctual Airline for Third Consecutive Year
Wizz Air has been identified as the UK's least punctual airline for the third year in a row, based on new data from the Civil Aviation Authority. In 2023, nearly half of all its flights departing from UK airports, 45.6%, were delayed by 15 minutes or more. The average delay for the low-cost carrier was 31 minutes and 36 seconds. The airline attributed its poor performance to factors including air traffic control strikes and ongoing mandatory engine inspections. In contrast, Virgin Atlantic was the most punctual major airline, with just over 20% of its flights delayed.
