Wizz Air Halts All Flights to Moldova Citing Airspace Safety Concerns
Wizz Air has announced the suspension of all its flights to and from Chisinau, Moldova, effective March 14. The airline cited "recent developments" and a "high, but not imminent" risk in the country's airspace as the reason for the decision. This move comes amid heightened geopolitical tensions in the region. While other airlines currently continue to serve the Moldovan capital, Wizz Air is increasing its services from Iasi, Romania, as an alternative. Moldovan authorities described the airline's decision as "sudden and regrettable."
