Wings of Eagles Hosts Aviation Career Day to Inspire Next Generation of Professionals
The Wings of Eagles Discovery Center in Chemung County hosted an Aviation Career Day for over 200 students from six local school districts. The event aimed to expose young people to the wide array of career opportunities within the aviation industry, beyond just being a pilot. Students had the opportunity to interact with professionals, including mechanics, engineers, and air traffic controllers. The initiative is part of a broader effort to address the nationwide shortage of qualified aviation personnel. Partners for the event included the FAA, local EAA chapters, and the Elmira-Corning Regional Airport.
