Vertical Aerospace Reports VX4 Transition Progress Amid Strained Finances
Vertical Aerospace has successfully achieved the first full transition of its VX4 eVTOL prototype from vertical lift to wing-borne flight. This critical milestone was accomplished during a remotely piloted test flight at Cotswold Airport in the UK. The test involved the aircraft taking off vertically, accelerating, and converting to wing-borne flight before returning to hover. Despite this technical achievement, the company's financial position remains challenging. Its current cash runway is projected to last only into the second quarter of 2025. Vertical is now actively seeking additional funding to continue its certification program.
