Utah Tests Advanced Aviation Technology to Boost Safety at Rural Airports
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) Aeronautics Division has launched a new pilot program to enhance safety at smaller, rural airports. The program utilizes technology from Advanced Aviation Technology to provide pilots with real-time data, including weather and air traffic information. This system aims to improve situational awareness for pilots, especially in areas with limited traditional air traffic control and radar coverage. The technology is currently being tested at the Nephi Municipal Airport and the Spanish Fork Airport as part of Utah's push into Advanced Air Mobility.
