Utah DOT Showcases Future of Air Mobility with All-Electric Aircraft Demonstration
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has demonstrated an all-electric, vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft as part of its Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) initiative. The event at Spanish Fork Airport featured the ALIA aircraft, developed by BETA Technologies. This demonstration is a key step in UDOT's exploration of how AAM can enhance transportation across the state. The technology aims to connect both urban and rural communities more efficiently. Potential applications being studied include cargo delivery and the transport of time-sensitive medical supplies.
