US Sanctions Target International Network Supplying Aircraft and Parts to Iranian Airlines

The United States Treasury Department has imposed new sanctions on a network of companies accused of illegally helping Iranian airlines acquire civil aircraft and parts. This network, with entities based in Turkey and the United Arab Emirates, allegedly facilitated the procurement of Airbus A340s for sanctioned carriers like Mahan Air. The US government asserts that these airlines are used by Iran to transport weapons and support the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps-Quds Force. These designations are the latest move in a long-standing US effort to disrupt Iran's access to the international aviation market. The sanctions effectively block the targeted companies from the US financial system and prohibit transactions with them.
