US Preclearance Facility Officially Opens at Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport
Toronto's Billy Bishop Airport (YTZ) has officially opened its long-awaited United States preclearance facility. This allows passengers on US-bound flights to clear customs and immigration in Toronto before their departure. By completing these formalities in Canada, travellers can land at US airports and be treated as domestic arrivals, saving considerable time. The service is launching with Porter Airlines' flights to Newark, with plans to expand to its Washington Dulles service soon. This upgrade makes Billy Bishop the second airport in Toronto, after Pearson, to offer this time-saving convenience for cross-border travel.
