US Firm Unveils New Reactor Capable of Producing 800 Barrels of Sustainable Aviation Fuel Daily
US-based Dimensional Energy has developed a new, highly efficient reactor designed to produce sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). This 15th-generation reactor can generate up to 800 barrels of SAF per day by converting captured carbon dioxide and hydrogen. The technology utilizes the Fischer-Tropsch process, powered by renewable energy, to create a fuel that significantly reduces the carbon footprint of air travel. This innovation represents a crucial step for the aviation industry's goal of achieving net-zero emissions by 2050. Dimensional Energy, which already has an offtake agreement with United Airlines, plans to build even larger facilities to scale up production.
