US Air Force's Next-Generation Fighter and Drone Programs Are Ahead of Schedule
The U.S. Air Force has announced that two of its most advanced and secretive aircraft programs are progressing ahead of schedule. The programs are the Next Generation Air Dominance (NGAD) platform, a sixth-generation fighter set to replace the F-22 Raptor, and the Collaborative Combat Aircraft (CCA) drones. These unmanned, AI-enabled CCAs are designed to fly as robotic wingmen for manned fighters. An Air Force official confirmed the positive development timeline, highlighting the push to counter advanced threats from near-peer adversaries like China.
