US Air Force Training Missile Washes Ashore on Michigan Beach
A family in Michigan discovered a U.S. Air Force training missile that had washed ashore on the banks of Lake Huron. The object was identified as a TDU-32B/B drone missile target, an inert device used for air-to-air combat training. After the family contacted local police, military officials were notified. Personnel from Selfridge Air National Guard Base confirmed the device was not explosive and safely recovered it from the beach. These targets are typically towed by aircraft for pilots to practice live-fire exercises.
