US Air Force Special Operations Command Seeks New One-Way Attack Drones
U.S. Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC) has released a formal request for information to acquire new one-way attack drones, also known as loitering munitions. The command is searching for man-portable systems that can provide long-range, precision strike capabilities for its operators. Key performance requirements include a minimum flight endurance of 90 minutes and a range exceeding 30 miles. AFSOC also specifies the need for the drones to operate effectively in environments where GPS is unavailable or jammed. This procurement effort highlights the increasing military reliance on these types of unmanned systems for modern combat scenarios.
