US Air Force Doubles Planned F-15EX Eagle II Fleet to 192 Jets
The U.S. Air Force has revealed plans to significantly increase its procurement of the F-15EX Eagle II fighter jet. According to new fiscal year 2025 budget documents, the service now intends to acquire a total of 192 aircraft. This figure nearly doubles the previously stated goal of 104 jets. The move is aimed at recapitalizing the aging F-15C/D fleet to maintain air superiority. This expansion underscores the F-15EX's growing importance in the Air Force's future fighter mix alongside stealth aircraft.
