UPS MD-11 Fleet Returns to Service After NTSB Clearance Following Fatal Crash

The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has cleared the McDonnell Douglas MD-11 cargo fleet to resume flights. This follows the investigation into the fatal crash of UPS Flight 1354 in Birmingham, Alabama, in August 2013, which killed both pilots. UPS had voluntarily grounded its MD-11 fleet as a precaution while investigators examined the aircraft's control systems. The NTSB has now determined the aircraft are safe to fly while the full investigation continues. This allows the workhorse cargo planes to return to regular operations for the global logistics company.
