Unruly Passengers Force United Airlines and Jet2 Flights to Divert
Two separate transatlantic flights were forced to make unscheduled landings due to aggressive passenger behavior. A United Airlines flight from London to Newark diverted to Bangor, Maine, where two disruptive individuals were removed by law enforcement. The passengers were reportedly intoxicated and became unruly during the flight. In a similar event, a Jet2 flight from Glasgow to Tenerife diverted to Shannon, Ireland, to offload another aggressive passenger. That individual was also met by local police upon arrival. These incidents highlight the continuing challenge of air rage for commercial airlines.
