United Express Embraer ERJ-145 Skids Off Runway, Suffers Gear Collapse in Maine
A United Express Embraer ERJ-145 has sustained substantial damage after a runway excursion at Presque Isle International Airport, Maine. The aircraft, operated by CommutAir as flight UA4933 from Newark, veered off the runway upon landing during a snowstorm. It came to a stop in soft, snow-covered ground, which resulted in the collapse of the left main landing gear. Fortunately, all 28 passengers and three crew members evacuated the aircraft without any reported injuries. The incident is now under investigation by safety authorities.
