United Airlines Takes Delivery of Its First Airbus A321XLR in Hamburg
United Airlines has officially taken delivery of its first-ever Airbus A321XLR at the Airbus facility in Hamburg, Germany. This aircraft is the first of 50 long-range, narrowbody jets the carrier has on order. The A321XLR is a key part of United's fleet renewal strategy, enabling the airline to launch new transatlantic routes with lower operational costs. The new jet will be configured with a premium-heavy layout, including Polaris business class seats. After a period of crew training and familiarization flights, the aircraft is expected to enter commercial service in early 2025.
