A United Airlines flight from Newark to Beijing was forced to divert to San Francisco following an aggressive dispute between two passengers. The incident on flight UA88 was reportedly triggered when one passenger became disruptive after the person in front of them reclined their seat. The flight crew determined the situation was a safety risk and made the decision to land. To meet landing weight requirements, the Boeing 777-200ER had to dump fuel estimated to be worth $30,000. The disruptive passenger was met by law enforcement upon arrival, and the flight was ultimately canceled.
