UK to Mandate Electronic Conspicuity for General Aviation Aircraft
The UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) is moving forward with a plan to mandate electronic conspicuity (EC) for general aviation. This new regulation will require most light aircraft to be equipped with devices that broadcast their position, such as ADS-B. The primary goal is to enhance air safety and reduce the risk of mid-air collisions in uncontrolled airspace. The initiative is part of a wider effort to modernize UK airspace management and better integrate all users. Aircraft owners will be given a specific transition period to comply with the new equipment requirements.
