UK CAA Proposes New Framework for Assessing Drone and eVTOL Noise
The UK's Civil Aviation Authority has published a consultation paper proposing a new way to assess and manage noise from drones, eVTOLs, and other new aerial vehicles. The framework, detailed in publication CAP2727, aims to support the safe integration of these aircraft by providing a flexible methodology for noise evaluation. It focuses on factors like public perception and annoyance, rather than just decibel levels. This guidance is intended for manufacturers, operators, and vertiport developers to ensure community acceptance. The CAA is seeking feedback from the industry on this proposal until July 19, 2024.
