UDOT to Lead Federal Pilot Program Testing Electric Aircraft and Advanced Air Mobility
The Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) has been selected by the Federal Aviation Administration to lead a new national pilot program. This initiative will focus on testing and validating emerging aviation technologies, particularly electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. UDOT's Division of Aeronautics is one of only three entities chosen to participate in the Advanced Aviation Technology Pilot Program. The program is a crucial step in developing safety standards and infrastructure for the future of Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). This effort aims to help integrate these innovative aircraft safely into the national airspace.
