UAE Aviation Authority Certifies Dubai's VPorts Vertiport for eVTOL Operations
The UAE's General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has officially certified the VPorts vertiport located at the Mohammed Bin Rashid Aerospace Hub in Dubai South. This is the first-ever certification of a vertiport in the region, marking a significant milestone for Advanced Air Mobility (AAM). The facility, developed by Canadian company VPorts, is designed to accommodate all types of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Initially, it will serve as a hub for certification, research, development, and training for the emerging AAM industry. This approval is a crucial step in VPorts' plan to establish a broader network of vertiports connecting major hubs across the UAE.
