The U.S. State Department has approved a potential Foreign Military Sale to the Philippines for F-16 Block 70/72 aircraft and related equipment. The deal is estimated to be worth approximately $2.43 billion. This proposed sale includes ten F-16C and two F-16D Block 70/72 aircraft. The acquisition is intended to enhance the Philippines' capability to counter current and future threats, including supporting counterterrorism operations. Lockheed Martin is designated as the principal contractor for this significant defense package, which now awaits congressional notification.
