U.S. House Passes Bipartisan Bills to Advance Aviation Innovation and AAM Infrastructure
The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has welcomed the U.S. House of Representatives' passage of two key bipartisan bills aimed at strengthening American aviation. The Advanced Aviation Infrastructure Modernization (AAIM) Act establishes a grant program for developing infrastructure, such as vertiports, for advanced air mobility (AAM). A second bill, the Future of Aviation Act, directs the Department of Transportation to develop a national strategy for the industry's future. The NBAA stated these legislative moves are vital for fostering innovation, particularly for new technologies like electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Ultimately, the bills are designed to ensure the U.S. maintains its global leadership in aviation.
