U.S. Air Force Increases F-15EX Eagle II Order to 104 Jets to Optimize Squadron Strength

The U.S. Air Force has expanded its planned procurement of the Boeing F-15EX Eagle II fighter from 80 to 104 aircraft. This increase, revealed in fiscal year 2025 budget documents, aims to fully equip two complete squadrons. The previous plan would have left units under-equipped, a situation the Air Force deemed inefficient. By ensuring squadrons are at full strength, the F-15EX can more effectively replace aging F-15C/D Eagles. This move strengthens homeland defense capabilities while freeing up stealth fighters for high-threat environments.
