U.S. Air Force and Northrop Grumman Plan to Accelerate B-21 Raider Production
The U.S. Air Force, in collaboration with Northrop Grumman, is set to increase the production rate for the new B-21 Raider stealth bomber. The decision follows the aircraft's successful first flight and the official award of a low-rate initial production contract. According to Air Force acquisition chief Andrew Hunter, the goal is to move beyond the initial slow pace to a more efficient and sustainable manufacturing rhythm. This acceleration is a critical step in the Pentagon's plan to modernize its bomber fleet. The Air Force intends to acquire at least 100 B-21s to replace its aging B-1 and B-2 bombers.
