Texas Selected by FAA to Pioneer Urban Air Taxi Testing and Development
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has been chosen by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to join its Urban Air Mobility (UAM) Pathfinder Program. This initiative is designed to test and develop the infrastructure required for futuristic air taxi services. The program will focus on safely integrating electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft into complex urban airspace, with a particular focus on the Dallas-Fort Worth area. TxDOT's Aviation Division will collaborate with the FAA and industry partners to establish the necessary communication protocols and operational procedures. This partnership marks a significant step toward making advanced air mobility a reality in Texas and across the nation.
