Southwest Airlines Launches its Longest Flight in the Contiguous US
Southwest Airlines has established a new record for its longest nonstop flight within the lower 48 states. The new route connects Long Beach, California (LGB) with Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI), covering a distance of 2,333 miles. This daily service is operated using the airline's Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft. The eastbound journey has a scheduled block time of five hours and five minutes, while the westbound flight is planned for five hours and fifty-five minutes. This new service surpasses the airline's previous longest contiguous US route between Oakland and Baltimore.
