South Korea Initiates Mass Production of KF-21 Boramae Fighter Jet
South Korea's Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA) has officially approved the mass production of the KF-21 Boramae fighter jet. A contract has been signed with Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI) for an initial lot of 20 aircraft this year. The long-term plan aims to deploy a total of 120 of the advanced 4.5-generation jets by 2032. The KF-21 is set to replace the Republic of Korea Air Force's aging fleet of F-4E Phantom and F-5E Tiger II fighters. This milestone represents a significant achievement for South Korea's domestic aerospace and defense industry, establishing it as a key producer of advanced combat aircraft.
