SMC Targets Late 2026 Opening for First Runway at New Manila Airport
San Miguel Corporation (SMC) announced its new Manila International Airport project is progressing ahead of schedule. SMC President Ramon S. Ang stated that the first of four runways could be operational by the end of 2026. Land development for the massive P735-billion private project is now 68.9% complete. The new airport is designed to decongest the existing Ninoy Aquino International Airport and handle up to 100 million passengers annually. This development is poised to significantly boost the Philippines' logistics and tourism sectors.
