SMC Targets 2026 for First Runway Delivery at New Manila Airport

San Miguel Corporation (SMC) has announced an accelerated timeline for its New Manila International Airport (NMIA) project. The company is aiming to deliver the first of four runways by the end of 2026, two years ahead of the original 2028 schedule. Land development for the $15 billion mega-airport in Bulacan is now 68.9% complete, with a primary focus on raising the ground level to prevent flooding issues. Once fully operational, the NMIA is designed to decongest the capital's existing main gateway and handle up to 100 million passengers annually.
