Skyportz to Test Full-Scale Modular Vertiport Solution in Australia Next Year
Australian infrastructure developer Skyportz has announced plans to test a full-scale, modular vertiport in southeastern Australia in 2025. This 'vertiport-in-a-box' concept is a prefabricated terminal building designed for rapid and cost-effective deployment. The structure, based on repurposed shipping containers, is developed with partners including Electra.Aero and engineering firm Arup. It will feature a passenger lounge, security facilities, and charging infrastructure for electric aircraft. The prototype aims to be self-sufficient, powered by solar panels and battery storage, representing a key step toward building a scalable network for the advanced air mobility market.
