SkyDrive to Study Converting Osaka Rooftop Helipads into eVTOL Vertiports
Japanese eVTOL developer SkyDrive has partnered with construction firm Takenaka Corporation to study the feasibility of converting existing rooftop helipads in Osaka into vertiports. The joint study will identify suitable buildings and assess technical requirements for the conversion, including structural integrity, fire safety, and flight paths. This initiative is part of the preparation for SkyDrive's planned launch of its 'SKYDRIVE (SD-05)' eVTOL service at the 2025 World Exposition in Osaka. By exploring the use of existing infrastructure, the partnership aims to accelerate the realization of advanced air mobility in urban environments.
