SkyDrive and KEPCO Partner to Develop eVTOL Charging Infrastructure in Western Japan
Japanese eVTOL developer SkyDrive has signed a partnership agreement with the Kansai Electric Power Company (KEPCO) to commercialize air mobility. The collaboration focuses on developing the first-ever charging facilities and ground infrastructure for eVTOL aircraft in Japan. This initiative will concentrate on the Kansai region in Western Japan, a key step in preparing for the 2025 World Exposition in Osaka. SkyDrive plans to launch its air taxi service at the event, and this partnership is crucial for creating the necessary operational framework. KEPCO will leverage its expertise in energy infrastructure to ensure the development of safe and efficient charging systems for SkyDrive's aircraft.
