Ship Manager Denies Negligence in Baltimore Bridge Collapse as DOJ Launches Criminal Probe
The manager of the container ship Dali, Synergy Marine, has denied any negligence following the collapse of Baltimore's Francis Scott Key Bridge. This denial comes as the U.S. Department of Justice officially opens a criminal investigation into the incident. Investigators are reportedly focused on whether the ship's crew was aware of power issues before departing the port. The ship’s owner and manager have filed a petition to limit their liability to approximately $43.6 million. The National Transportation Safety Board is also conducting a separate investigation into the cause of the power loss and subsequent collision.
