Search Underway for Missing Boeing 737-200 Cargo Jet in Pakistan
A Boeing 737-200 cargo aircraft operated by Askari Air has gone missing shortly after departing from Karachi, Pakistan. The aircraft, with a crew of three onboard, lost contact with air traffic control about 20 minutes into its flight towards Lahore. Its last known position was registered over the sea, southwest of the departure city. A comprehensive search and rescue operation has been launched by Pakistani authorities, involving the Navy and the Maritime Security Agency. The aircraft involved is a nearly 45-year-old freighter.
