Schiphol's Q1 Cargo Volume Climbs 5% Despite a Slight Dip in March
Amsterdam Airport Schiphol has reported a 5% increase in cargo volumes for the first quarter of 2024, handling a total of 371,202 tonnes. This growth occurred despite a minor year-on-year dip of 1.2% in March, which still saw a 10% rise compared to February 2024. For the quarter, inbound cargo saw a significant 7.5% increase to 198,393 tonnes, while outbound cargo grew by 2.2% to 172,809 tonnes. The primary driver for this growth was the Asian market, with cargo to and from the region increasing by 9.3%. North America and Latin America also showed positive trends, contributing to the overall successful quarter for the Dutch hub.
