SAS's Inaugural India Flight in 17 Years Forced to Return Due to Paperwork Issue
Scandinavian Airlines' (SAS) first direct flight to India in 17 years was forced to turn back shortly after takeoff. The flight, SK995 from Copenhagen to Delhi, was denied entry into Azerbaijani airspace. The Airbus A350 aircraft turned around over the Caspian Sea due to a paperwork issue related to overflight permissions. After approximately four hours in the air, the plane returned to its departure airport in Copenhagen. SAS apologized for the disruption and rebooked the affected passengers on the next available flights.
