Safran Spearheads European 'TAKE' Project for Next-Generation Ultra-Efficient Aircraft Engines
Safran is leading the new European 'TAKE' project under the Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking to develop technologies for the next generation of ultra-efficient engines. The project involves a consortium of 37 partners from 11 countries, including research centers, universities, and industrial companies. The primary goal is to mature technologies capable of reducing CO2 emissions by 20% compared to current engines on single-aisle aircraft. This initiative will focus on developing a highly efficient compact core, a versatile low-pressure system, and advanced heat management. The four-year project is supported by a budget of approximately €100 million, co-funded by the European Union.
