Safran Spearheads European 'TAKE' Project for Cleaner Aircraft Engines
Safran, along with 18 European partners, has launched the 'TAKE' project under the Clean Aviation Joint Undertaking. The primary goal is to develop and mature advanced combustor technologies for the next generation of aero-engines. This initiative aims to significantly reduce nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions and ensure full compatibility with 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The project, co-funded by the European Union with a budget of €19 million, is scheduled to run until February 2026. Ultimately, TAKE will contribute to the European goal of climate-neutral aviation by 2050.
