Ryanair Warns of Summer Flight Cuts Amid Boeing Delivery Delays
Ryanair has announced that its summer 2024 flight schedule will be impacted by significant delays in aircraft deliveries from Boeing. The airline was scheduled to receive 57 new Boeing 737 Max aircraft by the end of June but now expects to get only 40 to 45. This shortfall will force Ryanair to make minor schedule changes, reducing frequencies on some routes during the peak travel months of July and August. The delivery slowdown is a direct result of enhanced quality control and production checks at Boeing following the January Alaska Airlines incident. While CEO Michael O'Leary expressed frustration, he stated that the airline prefers to support Boeing's efforts to improve safety and quality.
