Ryanair to Cancel Summer Flights Amid Boeing Delivery Delays
Ryanair has announced it will cancel flights from its summer 2024 schedule due to significant delays in aircraft deliveries from Boeing. The airline now expects to receive only 40 of the 57 new Boeing 737 MAX jets it was anticipating before the end of June. As a result, the carrier will have to implement minor schedule changes across its network. CEO Michael O'Leary noted that these disruptions will primarily affect high-cost airports and could lead to slightly higher fares for passengers. The delivery holdups are a consequence of increased production scrutiny on Boeing following a recent incident involving an Alaska Airlines aircraft.
