Ryanair Targets Debt-Free Future with Fully Owned Boeing 737 Fleet
Ryanair is pursuing an ambitious financial goal to become completely debt-free within the next two years. The airline plans to use its significant cash reserves to own its entire fleet of 620 Boeing 737 aircraft outright. Currently, the low-cost carrier owns the majority of its fleet but still leases 111 jets. This strategy aims to significantly reduce financial risk and operating costs, particularly in a high-interest-rate environment. By eliminating debt and lease payments, Ryanair is positioning itself for strong, self-financed growth towards a planned fleet of 800 aircraft by 2034.
