Russia Unveils New Geran-5 Long-Range Combat Drone During Victory Day Rehearsals
Russia has publicly revealed a new long-range combat drone, the Geran-5, during rehearsals for the Victory Day parade in Moscow. This marks the first public appearance of the new unmanned aerial vehicle, which was displayed on a launch vehicle. The Geran-5 is considered a successor to the Geran-2, Russia's version of the Iranian Shahed-136 kamikaze drone. Initial analysis suggests the new model is larger and may be powered by a piston engine, differing from the Wankel engine used in its predecessors. These modifications could potentially enhance its range and payload capabilities for future military operations.
