Russia Developing Two-Seat Su-57 Variant to Act as Drone Command Post
Russia is reportedly developing a two-seat variant of its Su-57 'Felon' stealth fighter, according to the state news agency TASS. This new version is specifically designed to manage and control a group of S-70 Okhotnik (Hunter) heavy attack drones simultaneously in combat. The second crew member in the tandem cockpit will be tasked with commanding the drone swarm. This manned-unmanned teaming capability will allow the aircraft to act as a command post for up to four advanced drones. The project is currently in the design documentation phase and will not require significant changes to the airframe.
