RTX Proposes Common Automation Platform to Modernize Air Traffic Control
RTX is pitching a new, unified software platform called Fuse to modernize aging air traffic control (ATC) systems globally. The proposal addresses the challenges of current monolithic and difficult-to-update systems used by the FAA and other air navigation service providers. Fuse is designed as an open and scalable solution, allowing for faster integration of new technologies and third-party applications. This common platform aims to significantly reduce the cost and time required for ATC system upgrades. Ultimately, RTX hopes this approach will replace bespoke, country-specific solutions with a flexible, universally adaptable architecture.
