Rolls-Royce to Test New UltraFan Engine Aiming for 10% Fuel Efficiency Gain
Rolls-Royce is preparing to conduct the first ground tests of its new UltraFan jet engine at its facility in Derby. The technology demonstrator is the world's largest aero-engine and promises a 10% improvement in fuel efficiency over the company's current Trent XWB engines. Initial trials will be conducted using 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The new technology is designed to be scalable for future narrow-body or wide-body aircraft. This development represents a significant step towards more sustainable aviation for the 2030s and beyond.
