Rolls-Royce Successfully Runs UltraFan Jet Engine Demonstrator at Full Power
Rolls-Royce has successfully tested its new UltraFan engine at full power for the first time at its facility in Derby, UK. The test, which utilized 100% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), is a major milestone for the world's largest jet engine demonstrator. The new technology is designed to be 10% more efficient than the company's current Trent XWB engines. This validation of the new engine architecture is a critical step towards developing propulsion systems for future narrow-body and wide-body aircraft from the 2030s.
