Rolls-Royce Profits Soar as it Unveils Plans for Mini Nuclear Reactors
Aerospace giant Rolls-Royce has reported that its underlying operating profit more than doubled to £1.6 billion in 2023, marking a significant financial turnaround. Following this strong performance, the company announced the restoration of its dividend to shareholders for the first time since the pandemic began. The recovery is part of a broader transformation plan which includes cutting up to 2,500 jobs to streamline operations. In a major strategic move, Rolls-Royce is also developing small modular nuclear reactors (SMRs) to power data centres and is designing a micro-reactor for a potential future moon base.
