Record-Breaking Concorde Returns to New York's Intrepid Museum After Restoration
The record-holding British Airways Concorde, G-BOAD, has returned to its permanent home at the Intrepid Museum in New York City. The supersonic aircraft was transported by barge and crane back to Pier 86 following a seven-month restoration project. This specific jet holds the world record for the fastest transatlantic crossing by a passenger aircraft, a feat achieved in 1996. It has been a popular exhibit at the museum since the Concorde fleet was retired in 2003. The temporary relocation was necessary to allow for the redevelopment of the pier where it is displayed.
